Woodlawn Conservancy, Inc. is a registered 501(c)(3) organization charged with preserving the historic mausolea, monuments, landscape features and great trees that comprise The National Historic Landmark Woodlawn Cemetery in the Bronx. The Conservancy also provides public and educational programs, tours and events that interpret the objects under Woodlawn’s care and illuminate the celebrated lives of those interred here.

Since its inception in 1999, the Woodlawn Conservancy has been dedicated to preserving Woodlawn for the enjoyment of present and future generations. Through outstanding educational programming for people of all ages as well as initiatives to preserve the history and natural resources of Woodlawn, the Conservancy is a vital part of the future of Woodlawn.

Membership

Members play an important role in the mission of the Woodlawn Conservancy. Through membership in the Conservancy, you gain the satisfaction of knowing that the legacies of such giants as Celia Cruz, Duke Ellington and Joseph Pulitzer will be available to future generations.

President’s Circle

Supporters who make an annual gift of $1,000 or more to the Woodlawn Conservancy become a member of the prestigious President’s Circle. The President’s Circle allows for the furthering of educational programming and preservation of Woodlawn’s monuments and plantings for the enjoyment of future generations.

Legacy Circle

The Woodlawn Legacy Circle is comprised of those supporters who have made a planned gift to Woodlawn such as a bequest, retirement plan, real estate or other property, life income including charitable remainder trusts and charitable gift annuities, and privately-held  business interests.  There are many planned gifts available to meet both your personal needs and help establish or strengthen the legacy of giving with Woodlawn.

To ensure the continuation and expansion of our educational programs and preserve the history of the cemetery, the Conservancy seeks financial support from individuals, foundations, corporations and public agencies to underwrite educational programs, restoration projects and horticultural care.
