This tour will consider how some of our major mausolea benefit from enduring design decisions while others were decorated after completion.
Anthony Pellino will take visitors inside some of Woodlawn’s magnificent rarely opened mausolea to view features like Tiffany windows, metalwork by Samuel Yellin or domes and vaults crafted by Guastavino Company artisans.
Join us as we visit a variety of interiors at Woodlawn Cemetery designed or crafted by significant architects, designers or artisans.
We will explain a little about how the choices made in the design process combine, becoming part of a specific, intended effect or meaning.
Explore how the patrons and artists left us clues about how decisions were made in creating interiors that were meant to last for eternity.
We will be meeting at the Jerome Avenue and Bainbridge Avenue gate at 12:45 PM and the Tour will begin at 1:00 PM.
We anticipate this tour selling out quickly so tickets must be purchased in advance.
Tour is rain or shine. Ticket sales are final. Refunds will not be issued.
We are located directly across the street from the Woodlawn stop on the IRT #4 subway.
Free parking available in Woodlawn Cemetery.
We look forward to hosting you.
