New York Transit Museum Nostalgia Ride To Woodlawn Cemetery

This is an exclusive event being held by New York Transit Museum, who will be handling all registrations.

Join the New York Transit Museum as we venture uptown from Grand Central Terminal to Woodlawn Cemetery on WWI-era Lo-V subway cars.

Woodlawn station, designed by the subway’s chief architect Squire Vickers, opened in the Bronx on April 15, 1918.

The subway’s arrival helped spur development of the area, which had begun following the opening of the cemetery in 1863.

During a 3-hour visit, guests will enjoy guided tours of Woodlawn Cemetery to learn about some of the famous businessmen, authors, artists, and musicians who reside there.

Tickets are $35 for adults and $20 for children for museum members, and $50 for adults and $25 for children for the general public.

Presented in collaboration with Woodlawn Conservancy. Ticket includes round-trip ride aboard Lo-V subway cars from Grand Central to Woodlawn and guided tour of cemetery. Guests are invited to bring their own picnic lunch to enjoy on the grounds. Please wear comfortable walking shoes and dress for the weather!

Photography and video recording are permitted. However, tripods, stands, selfie sticks, and external lights may not be used. All photographs taken are for personal use only and permission to photograph may be revoked at any time.

For general information about this program, please contact our Producer of Public Programs by email or call 718-694-1588 during regular business hours.

All ticket sales are final. Should you be unable to attend the Nostalgia Ride, the full price of unused tickets may be treated as a donation to the Transit Museum and is tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. The Museum is not able to reschedule reservations to another tour date.
