Who owns our lot after an owner dies? [ Heirship Affidavit Form ] [ Owner Guidelines ] This can become a very difficult question to answer for large families. Here at Woodlawn, we strive to ensure that the rightful heir's to each lot are recognized and accounted for. To do this, we ask that families execute an heirship affidavit form at the time of the interment of each lot owner. (To review who is the lot owner, please see the Ownership Rights and Guidelines in this section) This form can be done at any time, however, prior to the next interment in the lot or for any work to be authorized to be done on the lot, including monument work, this form must be filed with our Administration Department. There is a small fee for filing this form, which our staff will inform you about at the time it is completed. The purpose of the form is to list the heirs at the lot owner's time of death (spouse, children, brothers, sisters, etc.). This information will be filled out on the form that is signed by a family member. Once signed, we will make this a permanent part of the lot record and it will be referred to in any future request made for the lot. This may seem like a small detail, but it is just one
more item that we hope can allow us to serve your family better when
a request is made. For your information, following is a sample of the
form. For complete information, please contact our Administration Department:
