CREMATION is a loving and practical way to fulfill the emotional and physical requirements that come with a loved one's death. At Woodlawn, we are committed to serving every families needs. So, we offer many options, at varying price ranges to assist families who choose cremation. The role of ceremony and a lasting memorial are important in the recovery process. And we all deserve to know during our lifetime that we will be remembered after our passing. Cremation is not the final disposition, but the preparation for interment. Woodlawn maintains a variety of facilities for the interment of cremated remains, giving you a full selection of urns, niches, columbariums and urn gardens. Columbariums. A Columnbarium is a building or structure where niche space may be selected. Like all Woodlawn mausoleums, our Columbariums are constructed of granite, glass, marble and bronze. Niches. A niche is a compartment where the urn is placed. It may be glass-enclosed, or have an ornamental front containing names and dates. Woodlawn provides facilities for niches of every type: Parkview Cremation Garden - These small in-ground lots
accommodate two cremations and are memorialized with flush bronze memorials. Community Mausoleums - Granite or Marble Front - These niches are for one cremation and again, are inscribed with the persons name on the niche front. Community Mausoleums - Glass Front - These niches, located in our Chapel Mausoleums and Lotus Mausoleum, can accommodate one to six cremations, depending on the size of the niche purchased. These niches require an urn made of permanent materials. Most of the inscriptions are placed on the urn or on a nameplate placed in the niche. Another feature of the Glass Front niches is that a personal memento may be placed in the niche. This memento may be placed at the time of service or later at the convenience of the family. Urns. We provide a large selection of urns, designed to meet a range of requirements and tastes.
